Shake Shack (Madison Square Park)

Shake Shack

Created by renowned New York City restaurateur, and park benefactor Danny Meyer, the ivy-covered kiosk located in the southwest corner of the park is the world’s first Shake Shack.

The famous burger chain started as a hot-dog cart temporarily set in the park to support the Conservancy’s first art installation. Its popularity led the Conservancy to ask Meyer to open a permanent food kiosk. Shake Shack is his tribute to the great American roadside burger stand.
